EPITA, heading for the 2018 4L Trophy adventure!

As the biggest student sporting and humanitarian event encouraging solidarity in Europe, the 2018 4L Trophy looks as if it will be a record-breaking rally with 3,000 students, over 15 nationalities, 60 tons of school supplies… This year, it will take place February 15 – 25, with participants making their way from Biarritz to Marrakesh. The goal behind this rally is to promote the education of underprivileged children in Morocco. Each team carries school supplies and sports equipment in their 4L Renaut cars in support of the “Enfants du Désert” (Children of the Desert) association. Since this race was created 21 years ago, over 200,000 children have received assistance.

EPITA is committed

This year, EPITA has once again renewed its commitment to this important humanitarian cause, by financing Alexandre Jacquot (EPITA class of 2020), a first year student in the engineering cycle at EPITA and his teammate Pierre Michelet, a student at CFAI Aquitaine. Participating in this rally will enable Alexandre, an automobile enthusiast, to “complement his computer engineering studies as well as learn a great deal about project management, logistics, and adhering to a specific budget, which are widely sought after skills on the job market.

Last year, more than twenty teams from the IONIS education group schools participated in the rally, which was won by Jean Galpin (IPSA class of 2014) and Sabine Ossonce, representing the Enfance Pétillante association. Let’s hope that Alexandre and Pierre will be just as successful! EPITA would like to wish them good luck on this fully unique sporting and human adventure, while they enjoy memorable encounters and an unforgettable experience amidst breathtaking landscapes.
