European Junior Olympiad in Informatics: France brings home two medals!

Olympiades.jpgTwo months after the French team brought home three medals (two silver!) from the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) held in Iran, another competition was organized, bringing together many young programming enthusiasts: the European Junior Olympiad in Informatics (eJOI). The very first edition of the eJOI, an event for participants under the age of 15, took place in Sofia Bulgaria from September 7 -13, 2017.

Representing France and supervised by the France-ioi association, Erwin Deng, Yaël Dillies, Vincent Jules and Grégoire Le Corre gave an excellent performance, with Erwin and Grégoire bringing home two bronze medals! “They had very good results“, said Mathias Hiron, president of the France-ioi association. “Erwin almost won the silver medal and the level of difficulty was much higher than we had imagined for a contest for young people under the age of 15!” This outstanding performance should encourage others to participate as well, Mathias stated confidently. “The second edition will be held in Russia. We will most likely select the participants at the same time as we choose the IOI team, around the Easter holidays. In addition, Grégoire and Jules still qualify as they were both born after December 31, 2002!” So, stay tuned! Meanwhile, EPITA would like to warmly congratulate this commendable team for their fine performance!
