The adventure is only just beginning for the EPITA class of 2016 engineers

Friday, April 7, 2017 was not just any day for the EPITA class of 2016. Indeed, this was the day that they received their engineering diploma at a graduation ceremony organized at the prestigious Maison de la Mutualité conference center (5th district in Paris). The young graduates celebrated their first step into the engineering world together with their friends and family, former students, the IONIS education group management team, the school’s teaching staff as well as the sponsor of the class of 2016, Alain Benoist, Head of Processes and Information Systems at Société Générale.

Before the awards ceremony began, Marc Sellam and Fabrice Bardèche, respectively president and CEO, and executive vice-president of the IONIS Education Group spoke about the many challenges that these new engineers will face. While Marc Sellam focused on the “new reality” of “today’s engineers” who, thanks to the training they have received, can “successfully and skillfully” reconcile “technical and scientific skills” with “managerial functions” inside companies, Fabrice Bardèche emphasized the growing role of engineering in the IONIS Education Group. “Sup’Biotech, founded in 2004, received CTI accreditation and became the Group’s 4th engineering school. ESME Sudria, after Lille and Lyon, will open its first preparatory cycle in Bordeaux at the beginning of the next school year, and EPITA has campuses in Lyon, Rennes, Strasbourg and Toulouse. IPSA is opening a Bachelor’s program alongside its engineering cycle in order to diversify its offer. All of these schools have multiplied their number of foreign partners and shown innovation by developing the first entirely English-speaking engineering programs on their campuses in France.

When welcoming the new graduates, Joël Courtois, Managing Director of EPITA, together with Alain Benoist, encouraged this promising generation to continue reaching for the stars: “We have spent several formative years together… Now, it is time for you to spread your wings!” Then came the moment everyone had been waiting for: the 276 engineering graduates of the class of 2016 took to the stage. Here are some of the Majors from the school’s different departments: Nicolas Chassard (Global IT Management), Pierre De Abreu (Systems, Networks and Security), Julien Dubois (Multimedia and Information Technology), Yoann Jonard (Telecommunications), Guillaume Klein (Cognitive Science and Advanced Computing), Jérémy Lefaure (Computing Engineering for Real-time and Embedded Systems), Mohammad Salman Nadeem (International Master – Computer Security), Mohamad Nour Eddine (International Master – Information Systems Management), Luv Kumar Singh (International Master – Software Engineering), Jenny Soupama (EPITA Experts), Valentin Tolmer (Scientific computing and image) and Sébastien Trouvé (Information Systems and Software Engineering). EPITA would like to once again congratulate these young professionals who are ready to go out and conquer the world!
