EPITA chosen by the Startup Europe Roadshow
Created on the initiative of the European Commission and of the European Young Innovators Forum (EYIF) association, the Startup Europe Roadshow is a high-tech workshop that visits 10 European cities over 8 months to promote entrepreneurship to young Europeans and to make them aware of available European funding opportunities. After a first stop in Poznań, Poland, it was the turn of Paris to host the event. Organized for the occasion by StartUp42, the digital start-up accelerator sponsored by EPITA, it took place on March 11th, 2014 on the school’s premises.
As ambassador of the EYIF association in Paris and director of StartUp42, Daniel Jarjoura is satisfied that “the involvement of StartUp42 and its integration into the technological entrepreneurial ecosystem” have enabled EPITA’s accelerator to organize the Parisian stop of the first edition of the Startup Europe Roadshow on the theme: “From Engineering school to multi-million international company”. The workshop, which was open to students aged between 16 and 30 who wish to launch into entrepreneurship and have an idea or a project they want to develop, featured several quality speakers. As Daniel Jarjoura had explained: “The workshop agenda will have two parts. The first part will feature speakers who the European Commission calls “role-models” – successful entrepreneurs who come to share their experience. The second part will consist in a speech by a member of the European Commission who will talk about European initiatives and funding for start-ups.”. The list of “role-models” present at this Parisian workshop was particularly good, since Alexandre Malsch (Epitech 2009 graduate), “the founder of Melty“, Frédéric Mazzella, “the founder of BlaBlaCar, the European leader in car-sharing sites”, and Fabrice Bonan (EPITA 1996 graduate) took turns in firing the imagination of future entrepreneurs in the audience and maybe giving rise to a few vocations!
