A prize for female IT engineers

EPITA, the school for computer science intelligence and the “Femmes du numérique” commission (linked to trade association Syntec Numérique) launched at the end of September the 2014 edition of the Trophée excellencia. The aim is to promote the digital sector among young women.

The Trophée excellencia was created in 2005 to reward women working in the world of digital technology. From 1 January to 31 May 2014, female engineers may enter the competition in one of the three following categories:
•    Creator of a digital company: the candidate with the best IT startup project will benefit from six months of technical and marketing acceleration as well as guidance/coaching for business creation and development.
•    Scientific student: the winner in this category will benefit from full funding for her studies at EPITA.
•    Woman committed to social or humanitarian work: the trophy is awarded to a woman working in the field of IT (engineer, researcher, business creator…) who supports the work of a charity pro bono. This charity will receive the support of several companies part of Syntec Numérique.
Each application will be examined by an expert committee made up of EPITA and “Femmes du numérique” representatives, as well as of partners of the initiative. A ceremony will be organized in Paris in September 2014 to award the prizes to the winners.
