As part of their graduation projects, Michel Bertrand, Yuri Gouzevitch and Mickael Moreau, students of SCIA (Cognitive Science and Embedded Computing) as well as Remy Guillermin and Thierry Robert, students of GISTR (Computer Engineering for Real-Time Systems) exploited the synergies between their specializations to achieve a four-motor drone equipped with an embedded Android phone capable of tracking a radio-controlled car on the ground.
Indeed, the development of this project required the intervention of specific skills from the SCIA image processing for tracing the car, and those specific to the GISTR in real-time systems and in electronics for the movement of the drone. Multiple applications of this project are possible, particularly in the field of security, as well as some improvements such as adding mapping options or augmented reality…
