EPITA Research and Development Laboratory

Erasmus Program

The EPITA Research and Development Laboratory (LRDE) has gained international recognition through the work of its research staff and collaboration with scientific institutions such as the CNRS (National Council for Scientific Research), INRIA (National Institute for Research in Computer Science and Control), CEA (French Atomic Energy Commission) and high-level laboratories worldwide.

One focus being to find innovative solutions to industry's needs, the LRDE maintains close ties with industrials through consultancy work, training and research contracts. Siemens Corporate Research on medical imagery using the image processing software OLENA or EMC on information management and storage with CAPTIVA are examples of such collaboration.

Our staff actively participates in joint research projects with the international academic community of researchers on major subjects of investigation: signal and image processing, scientific computing, probabilistic systems, software design and distributed computing. These activities lead to numerous international conferences and joint publications. Common interests lay the foundations of long-term collaboration as with the University of Utrecht on Transformers or the University of Birmingham on Model Checking.

The international renown of the LRDE also depends on the excellence of its students.
LRDE

Chosen among the best 10% of EPITA, they often pursue their PhD or post-doctorate studies in the most prestigious establishments. However, they remain involved in joint-research projects and keep their ties with the LRDE, providing invaluable resources and contacts for current students.
